You give your hand to others several or even dozen times a day. Do you know how much information this one welcome gesture carries dear network marketing lover? Ranking MLM today covers this topic because according to MLM opinions it is crucial in the multi-level marketing and network marketing world.
Welcome handshake is a standard not only in the business world, but also in less formal interpersonal relations. We greet friends in different way than people on formal meetings. Greetings also depend on the surrounding; we behave in one way in well-known environment and completely differently in the entirely new scenery. Rarely, however, we pay attention to how someone gives us his hand. We also rather do not focus on this gesture. At most, we try to make our grip firm. Meanwhile, this non-verbal element of body language is a very important component of our self-presentation. The classification of the gesture shows that they are not equal. With basic knowledge, you can read the character and intentions of your interlocutor. Let us look carefully to all wrong embraces.
1. A dead fish
This is embrace with a sticky, cool hand. It is inert, which instinctively informs about weakness of character and lack of involvement in the interaction. It should be kept in mind that in many cases this is the result of sweaty palms disease (hyperhidrosis). And even more often it is unconscious reaction of the body. After all, palms have greater number of the sweat glands than any other part of the body.
2. A vice
It is most often practiced in the business world embrace. Not without reason, because it expresses the dominance over the other person. Hand interior is directed downwards. The caller feels a sharp downward pressure, followed by vigorous shaking and a strong grip.
3. A bone breaker
This embrace raises terror. And no wonder, because it is strong gesture which often leaves a mark. The practitioners are mostly aggressive men, so-called tough guys who during the first contact, when the hand meets the hand, try to frighten the partner, by not treating very gently knuckles of his fingers.
4. A handle for fingers
This type is often accompanied by female-male greetings. The contractor does not go in the grip of partner’s hand, so grabs only the fingers. This embrace may indicate a lack of self-confidence and the desire to maintain a distance, but it is also possible that it is due to the distance between the partners.
5. A stiff hand
It is also characterized as a type of violent shaking. It communicates the desire to maintain a distance. Such handshake is often accompanied by simultaneously bending whole body forward.
6. Pulling the hand out of the joint
This handshake is characteristic for dominant people. The interlocutor’s hand is grabbed and pulled in the direction of another person so strongly that the person may lose balance. A practitioner of this greeting from the start marks commanding position in the conversation.
7. A pump
This is a series of vigorous, violent vertical shaking, up and down, which seems to have no end.
8. Dutch embrace
Cousin of “dead fish”, but in this case, the hand is less viscous, but more rigid. Why Dutch? This is because in Netherlands you can meet with the opinion that our hands when handling resembles a bunch of carrots…
The perfect embrace?
Of course, you have to approach with a bit of distance to the classification, because you cannot hide the fact that very often the deciding factors on our hands in response to the situation are the emotions which accompany it. Stress, uncertainty, new environment … All of these make that even if we want to say hello with a firm grip, the hand is shaking involuntarily. To overcome such situations, you should simply practice, not only how to cope with stress, but also how to shake hands. Even if, at first, it seems a bit ridiculous to you, keep in mind how significant changes may it bring. Is it possible to work out the perfect handshake? In our own subjective perception probably many of us would say that their handshake is perfect. However, if we assume that there is not a perfect embrace in this matter, we have no choice but to establish a proper handshake. It is easier than you might think. Just follow these few rules:
1. Remember that the hand should be dry. This can be difficult if stress dominates over the situation. Then, even with greater commitment we should fight with it so it does not ruin our reputation right from the start.
2. You should grab whole hand firmly, but not too tight and you should hold it for a few seconds. The point is that embrace should not be too strong, so the other person will not feel that you are crushing his hand. Too strong grip does not present self-confidence.
3. Shake hand gently 2-3 times.
4. When you are holding hand, do not look at it and do not focus on whether you hold it correctly, but keep eye contact with the caller.
5. Smile and say few words.
So be smart and effective dear network marketing lovers!
