I have been exploring my knowledge on building a personal brand for 10 years so far. I wrote my thesis on this subject while studying at the Rotterdam School of Management and I have been testing this theory on myself since. In time the theory has translated into practice.
Brand. What does it mean?
Until recently, brands were associated only with a company or a product. Companies with strong brands could expect higher prices for their products. That’s why they built them for years and spared no means to have a strong brand. What does a strong brand mean? Recognizable, which is associated with quality, specific values and provides specific emotions. Every strong brand has a strong “Why” It has its mission and customers follow it.
People become brands
Similarly, this translates into the MLM industry.
There are many benefits in having a strong personal brand in the direct selling industry. I will list the three most important.
1. How they see you, that’s how they perceive you. Therefore your image translates into your income. People with a strong personal brand earn more because they add better offers. People want to pay more to recognized leaders.
2. You will increase sales. There is a rule that we buy from people we know, like and respect.
3. People will want to meet you themselves. That’s why you can easily arrange a meeting with others. This can translate into your financial results.
Strong personal brand
So a strong personal brand will allow you to realize your plans much faster. Therefore you can plan more ambitiously.
To become a brand people need to know your strengths and why you like them. People will follow you if they see that you have your “Why” strong and it is consistent with them. Why do you do what you do? I know this is a difficult question.
Another element is that people must know you. That means you have to show them:
- Your “Why”
- Your achievements in MLM and beyond
- The strengths of yours
- Your plans
- Your interesting face
- Something that they will find captivating
The strategy of 6
When you meet someone on the street six times, you consider them as friends. If you see someone on TV or in the Internet 6 times, you consider them to be a public figure. If you read someone’s article 6 times, you recognize someone as an expert.
This is the strategy of the largest global companies that make sure that everyone on earth finds out about them at least 6 times and then they keep reminding of themselves systematically.
Time and personal brand
Building a personal brand takes time and effort. The sooner you start building it, the more great things you can do in life. It is important to take the first step. It is possible that the first step is that you are reading this article. The question is what will be next?
