THEY SAY THAT THE FIRST QUESTION IS OFTEN CRUCIAL. SO SINCE WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT NETWORK MARKETING, I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU THE FOLLOWING QUESTION: WHAT’S YOUR STYLE ON THE TENNIS COURT?
I am an aggressive baseliner. I love to take the ball early. If you ever watched Andre Agassi that’s who I tried to model my game after.
AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE AS A NETWORK MARKETER?
I hated the network marketers who were in your face and salesy so my style was the opposite. I focused on effective communication. I focused on leading through influence not title. I always focused on asking more questions to learn more about what my prospect was looking for. Then with those who joined my team I led through influence. My goal was to empower them and have them be better than me. I am a big believer in the law of the buy in.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ALL OF THOSE BEGINNERS IN NETWORK MARKETING WHO REALLY WANT TO DO THIS KIND OF BUSINESS BUT AT THE SAME TIME THE KEEP REPEATING TO THEMSELVES: „GOSH! I REALLY SUCK AT SELLING. I ALWAYS HAVE. THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE”.
Listen to yourself LESS. Talk to yourself MORE. This means to stop listening to the negative voices and start to have positive self-talk. Start to reframe your thoughts. Here is an example. Rather than saying, “I suck at recruiting.” Say something like this, “I am learning and getting better at recruiting.” Your identity is formed by your beliefs and what you tell yourself. Another tip. Any time you have a negative thought come to your mind write down (or put it in your phone notes) 3 positive solutions so that you can train and retrain your brain to work for you rather than against you.
HOW MUCH TIME DID YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN NETWORK MARKETING? WHAT STRATEGIES DID YOU USE?
Much of this depends on a ton of variables. Some of previous credibility that translates over into network marketing while others have developed skills from other careers. The key is to not fake work. Fake work is where many network marketers focus on being BUSY rather than PRODUCTIVE. Working in this profession is talking to NEW PEOPLE. If you aren’t talking to new people you aren’t working. Yes, of course there are other important tasks but this is the most important one that many neglect.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SALES TECHNIQUE? AND BY THE WAY, IN YOUR OPINION, HOW TO BE INFLUENTIAL WITHOUT BEING MANIPULATIVE?
Questions are the answers. I keep asking questions upon questions to get their real objection. They usually give me the answer of what it is they really need to know.
I KNOW THAT YOUR ARE AN EXPERT ON DECONSTRUCTING DIFFERENT KINDS OF FEARS WHICH ARE ADVERSITY IN RUNNING A NETWORK MARKETING BUSINESS. BUT YOU PERSONALLY, WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE MOST? WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?
The mother of all fears is the fear of judgment. Remove the fear of judgement and we don’ have the fear of the failure, success or rejection. I have worked hard on overcoming this and have made great improvements but I still have much room for improvement. I joke around that I am a recovering people pleaser!
WHO DO YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH THE MOST? WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE? AND HOW CAN ANYONE GAIN YOUR TRUST?
I like to work with those types of people who are givers. I like to work with the type of people who are loyal. Life is too short to work with people you can’t trust and people who are always all about themselves.
MR SPERRY, I THINK THAT YOU WILL AGREE WITH ME IF I SAY THAT SPORT IS BASED ON ONE THING: COMPETITION. FOLLOWING THAT LOGIC, WE CAN SAY THAT WORK IS BASED ON EFFECTIVENESS, FRIENDSHIP ON TRUST AND ADVERTISING ON HAPPINESS, FOR INSTANCE. HOW ABOUT NETWORK MARKETING? WHAT IS THE ONE THING THAT NETWORK MARKETING IS BASED ON?
Leadership. Everything revolves around leadership. Including managing and leading people. Including creating strong relationships and empowering your teams to do better. Including creating simple systems to help your team succeed.
WHY DO YOU WHAT YOU DO, MR. SPERRY? WHAT IS YOUR DRIVE IN NETWORK MARKETING?
I love coaching network marketers. It is very fulfilling to see others have breakthroughs. My drive is first and foremost to fufill my potential. The definition of happiness for me is progress. As I progress and create a greater income this helps me to show my kids what is possible all while providing a greater income to create family vacations. I am all about trips with my wife and kids.

More and more network marketing is about the consumer. If you create a strong customer acquisition and retention program you are set up for success. The next aspect is a strong focus on social media. Social media is only getting bigger and bigger. Done right it increases the speed of the timeless principles.

Family vacations! I do at least 7 every year and then I do 2 to 3 with just my wife and no kids. I also love the NBA. My favorite team is The Lakers!
