Chasing the unknown with Jay Johns
Hello, my name is Jay Johns. I am 9 months into my MLM career and I could never have imagined how it would change my life. I understand this might sound cliché, but the last 9 months have changed me more than I could have ever dreamed.
January 2020: I sat in my weekly Friday management meeting at my job and listened to the owner tell me, and the rest of his management team, that ‘none of us would ever make as much money as he had lost.’ That meeting and those words set an internal fire in me, and put me on a mission to find something bigger. I needed to find my plan B and something that gave me purpose. Never again would I allow myself to be treated that way. I was going to grab the reins and take control of my life.
In my search, I found ibuumerang. My wife and I dug into this company, and it intrigued us. It was something I could really grab hold of and make work for me, and us. A week after joining ibuumerang, I was laid off with many others due to COVID-19… and what a blessing it was. My plan B turned into my plan A and I haven’t looked back since. I know I am one of the few that can look at the pandemic and be grateful for the opportunity it gave me. I committed completely. I immersed myself in the training and all of the resources we have at our disposal. I have never experienced anything like it; a truly positive, inspirational and growth-oriented place to not only grow my business, but also myself. I took hold and the results are amazing. I was someone who prided myself on never having ever truly read a book, I had no idea what I was missing. I have now read 8 books in the last 8 months. I have dug deep into who I am and why I am the way I am and taken steps to change those areas that no longer serve me. I can honestly say, I am now addicted to personal development. I have done more personal development and experienced more growth in 9 months than in the 20+ years prior. I find myself searching for new information, new ways of thinking and new perspectives all of the time. My company gave me the kick-start I needed to take off on developing not only myself as a person, but also as a leader.
Having my eyes opened to the world of personal development has been amazing and truly life changing. I have discovered how numerous resources are available at our fingertips every day, and all we need to do is look for them. I have taken part in multiple free challenges and courses offered by the world’s top coaches. There is so much power in finding those coaches and mentors that you resonate with, but also being open to listening to new people and perspectives, You never know where your next golden nugget is going to come from.
I have turned into the leader I always wanted to be and I am striving to guide my team to continuously grow and push themselves to be better and do better. I have spent my time digging into the best ways to grow my business, all with the goals of creating a system I can share with my teammates, allowing us to create a systematic, repeatable business. The opportunity to be able to market online, throughout the world, is what truly fascinates me about this opportunity. I am having calls in Mexico, Italy, Poland, Brazil, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, and Africa. I am here to inspire and motivate my team and all those who surround me. I aim to show everyone that there is more to life than taking orders at your thankless job. I seek to exemplify that surrounding yourself with positive people who truly want to see you excel can make all of the difference.
The freedom the MLM industry has given to me and my family has been amazing. I am currently a stay at home dad, working my business around my life and family. There are very few industries that allow us the ability to have our work fit around our lives. The close bond I have with my children is something most dad’s dream of, but are not able to attain due to strict work schedules, and the time I have with them is priceless.

Last month, I launched my first challenge, “Change your mindset, change your life,” a free 5 day challenge to help people re-wire their mind and get out of their default. On November 30, I am launching my second free challenge, “I can’t into I can 5 day Challenge, “ aimed at arming people with the tools to allow them to not only get through the holiday season, but to also grow within it. I will be launching a podcast in the near future, and spoiler alert; the name of this article will also be the name of the podcast. I have had the unbelievable opportunity to grow myself as a leader, man, husband, and father. Network Marketing has set me on a path to continuous growth and pushing myself in all areas of my life. From this day on, you can find me chasing the unknown.
